Even though the pandemic made face-to-face training impossible, we continued training in 2022 without slowing down. We completed the year by adding new actors and stakeholders to the social impact ecosystem.

As Koç University Social Impact Forum, we carried out studies for the management and dissemination of social impact in 2022, as in previous years, and with the Social Impact Measurement and Management trainings we organized online, we reached 200 people in a total of 14 trainings with 8 different institutions.

As Koç University Social Impact Forum (KUSIF), we have worked with non-governmental organizations, private sector organizations, public institutions, funding institutions, and social enterprises that want to increase their positive social impact since 2012. We come together with actors working in the field of social impact in Social Impact Measurement and Management training and support these institutions to look at the social impact projects they carry out more holistically and to have the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill their mission of creating social benefit more efficiently.

The change we create in the field of social impact in the institutions we work with continues to increase with the multiplier effect that spreads from individuals to institutions. The comments made by our participants about the training regarding the changes in the level of knowledge and awareness show that we are on the right track:

  • The training generally achieved the expected goals. In particular, evaluating social impact and examining the application of the theory of change has been a significant gain for those working in the programming and management of funds.
  • Even though the training was interactive and implemented online, all the relevant tools were available to us, which enabled us to get full efficiency. The added value of the content and applications was high.
  • The training was great in terms of content and application. I realized I had to start from a linear and normative thought when writing a project.
  • It was a very high-quality and valuable education. We leave with many gains. The instructors’ communication and repetition of topics from different perspectives increased understandability.
  • To initiate the process regarding the social impact management of the projects and activities I carry out and follow, I plan to proceed by considering social impact management in my future work.
  • I had something in my mind about social impact but was not knowledgeable about change theory and mappings. I learned what should be considered within the scope of social impact studies.
  • I better understand what to look for regarding impact and how to read our data. I had basic knowledge, but my grounding with 10 impact questions and application capacity increased with 4 Steps. It was an area that I didn’t think much about. There was both awareness, and I learned new methods to measure it.
  • I plan to get more detailed information on the subject by looking at the sources, sharing the information I learned here with the team, and examining and researching the work of other NGOs in social impact management.
