The ninth of seminar of the YoungTalks series was held on November 19, 2014. Tuğçe Erçetin, who is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in Political Science at Bilgi University, gave a presentation. Erçetin shared the conclusion of her master thesis, from Sussex University, based on the perception of Armenians in Turkey. The study analyzes the experiences of discrimination and insecurity felt by Armenians in Turkey. She derived her arguments from the results of online surveys of 120 members of the Armenian community in Turkey. Erçetin shed light on the reaction Armenians receive on revealing their identity in public, mixed marriages, and the experiences they have as a Christian community living in a largely Muslim country.
